A few days ago, Evanston had a Lighted Parade. I was excited because I thought Jack would really like it. So we bundled up the little ones and headed out.
This is Addie in her little outfit that is supposed to fit babies up to 3 months old. You probably can't tell, but her legs don't even make it half way down. I guess that's good news because it will probably fit her longer than 3 months.
The newspaper said the parade was from 6-7. When we got there we realized what they meant to say was 6-6:15. We missed all of it, but I did manage catch a glimpse of a pretty awesome tractor covered in Christmas lights. So the lighted parade has made it on our list of things to make sure we do next year since we missed them this time around. We still wanted to do something Christmasy (I realize that's not a word) so we went home, started a fire, and had hot chocolate. This was Jack's first mug of the chocolate goodness. He loved it! So much so that he threw a fit when he drank it all and found out he wasn't getting a refill.
I love how when your plans are unexpectedly changed you still manage to have a good time. Tantrum or no, we had fun!

ahh... hot chocolate one of the most christmasy things you can do. I've seen those hot chocolate tantrums (sometimes x 4 :) I'm glad that you've learned early on that you can still have fun, tantrum or not :) I'm still working on that.
ps- I almost couldn't believe my eyes when I saw how long Addie looked, phew- it was just the outfit. Can't wait to see you guys in a couple of weeks!!!
aww! poor jack! his mean parents won't give him more sugar. i see a tantrum like this AT LEAST once a day. my kids take after the asay side. sugar lovers! that looks like fun! i wish we had a fireplace!!
I know where Jack's love for hot chocolate comes from...I remember a certain someone who would make it all of the time in college! :) My boys love the stuff too. Every time it snows outside, they think they NEED it.
Heeheehee . . . I love it! From the missed parade to the "hot chocolate tantrum" and still SUCH FUN! It all sounds so familiar - it's the stuff our happy little lives are made of!
Looove it!! I love the pictures..they tell the story all on their own! Jack's gonna LOVE that picture when he's 13-haha. Addie's cute in her outfit...even if it's a little big ;)
Addie is so beautiful! I totally love Jack's face - not just the sadness because his cup is empty and no one will give him more, but how much of the chocolate is on his face!!! He could just start licking his lips and it'd be like having another cup! (HA!)
Sorry the parade was missed, but like you said - next year you'll know to remember it is only 15 min.!!

So funny! Wish we could be there to share in the fun - and we'd take the tantrums too : )
