This is my town...

The population is somewhere around 12,ooo people. There are parades at festivals for everything! The speed limit is generally 20-30mph, you can occasionally find a 40mph, but its usually on a road leading out of town. At midnight, all the stop lights change to red flashing lights (a four way stop). We have a slow pace, and I love it.

I went to Ogden the other day to run some errands. Ogden isn't a huge town, but its much bigger than Evanston. I hated it! It was too crowded, and people were driving too fast! I'm sure a lot if it had to do with the fact that I didn't actually know where I was going, it was raining, and there was construction EVERYWHERE! But it made me think... what am I going to do when we actually move back to TX? I've never liked driving in Dallas, I think its kind of scary, and now I'm used to something smaller and more relaxed than where I grew up...I'm in trouble!

you may be in trouble, haha. houston would make you crazy! at least one highway is ALWAYS under contrustion. but i think you may be able o find a slower little town when ya move back. :)
Find a small town to move to in TX and just make Eric drive if you ever have to go into Dallas!
A slow pace sounds so nice. Maybe we should move up there for a while.
I'm like you. I like the small town atmosphere. I don't mind the city but I really do have a preference. :)
When do you guys plan on moving back to Texas?
What sweet small town girl! Don't you worry, you just come to Texas and we'll find you a great small town (with an easy drive to grandma's and grammy's houses)!! Plus, I'm with you on the traffic stuff!

Sas- I don't blame you! Every time I come to Evanston, I feel like I get back to what really matters. you don't get caught up in all the "wordliness" and it feels like you can just take a deep breath and be calm. I miss it every time I leave - and i've never even lived there! That being said, there ARE some small towns in Texas. I'm sure you can find one somewhere, someday : )

yeah, i'm sure you could find a small town in tx to live in. there are good things about both. sometimes i think it'd be so fun to live in the big city but i've mentioned to brad a bunch how much i miss walking through the old streets of provo when we lived there. and we're not even in a BIG city now, just bigger. but you really do miss the simplicity.
Just don't move back to Texas! I really enjoy having you guys so close! But I know that yo must do what you must do!:) I love Evanston too. It was a great place to grow up and live. Small towns are just so wonderful. The people are so good!
