Its Winter!

Its been snowing a lot lately, and apparently we're in for a blizzard! It hasn't hit us yet, but I definitely don't want to be out when it does. I just got back from the grocery store, and I don't have plans to leave the house for days.

This is a picture of the snow on Sunday. The wind was blowing so hard I could barely open the door, and I couldn't go outside without my camera getting wet, so this is a fast picture from the doorstep.

I don't know if you can tell from these pictures, but there is at least a foot of snow on the ground.
I was looking at the accuweather website this morning. Its telling me that tonight is supposed to -6...real feel -37! Can you imagine! Anyway, I guess what I'm getting at is (in the words of Jack...) It's Winter!

How was the blizzard there? We didn't get much of it here. I think we were all a little disappointed! Silly us!

Yikes! The best thing about a blizzard is being able to hunker down - knowing you have wood for the fireplace (yay, Eric) and plenty of food and hot chocolate (yay, Sarah)! It can be kind of fun to have to stay inside for a couple of days and watch movies! So hopefully it's all gone by Friday! Enjoy and Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!
love, mom

How did I never comment on this? I thought that I did. I wanted to say: On my phone I can check the 7 day forecast, and it will have little pictures to go along with the weather. Well for some reason I like to check on everyone's weather, so I also have Sunnyvale, Bend, and Evanston in my weather library, and I always think its funny that Evanston's overall icon is froze ice everywhere and snowflakes. Maybe you don't think its that funny, though.

I love snow, I think it's beautiful, but that much snow is wild! I hope you are able to get out of the house a bit with the kids. I know my kids don't handle bad weather days too well. Being cooped up in the house is no bueno. Glad we don't have to deal with that too often though.

STAY WARM!!
