Happy Halloween

We kind of skipped out on Halloween this year. No costumes, no trick or treating, no parties. Instead, we decided to spend time at home with our little family. Here are some pictures of the kiddies in their Halloween shirts and Addie's Halloween bibs.

Addies

We got Addie's name from her cousin Elizabeth Addie Grant. After I met my sweet little niece Elizabeth for the first (and last) time I knew I wanted to name my daughter Addie. Luckily, Eric fell in love with the name too. Today, October 26, would be Elizabeth's 7th birthday and it was Addie's due date. So, in honor of the day, I wanted to post a picture of Addie modeling some of the clothes she got from the Grant girls (Elizabeth Addie and Claire).

Would you rather

Would you rather have an afro or a mullet?

Would you rather have 1 million dollars in hand or own a McDonalds franchise in a killer location?

Would you rather be best friends with Mr. Rogers or Bob Ross?

Would you rather see a fight to the death between the Wiggles and Doodle Bops or Charlie Brown and Ziggy?

Would you rather be able to time travel to the future or to the past?

Would you rather own a mountain ski cabin or a beach front bungalow?

Would you rather bring back Seifeld or Frasier?

Would you rather shop at Wal-Mart or Target?

Would you rather have a maid or a chef?

Would you rather wipe mosquitoes or roaches off the face of the earth?

Would you rather never eat breakfast or lunch ever again?

Would you rather be a horse whisperer or a dog whisperer?

Would you rather drink Coke or Pepsi?

Info Crazy

I feel like there is something in my DNA that makes me susceptible to purchasing from infomercials. Afterall in the past few years members of my family have purchased miracle blades, mighty putty, some kind of lawnmower cleaning kit, a magic bullet and the list goes on. When I was a kid I would always take up the commercial on the free video for a bowflex, various cutlery, vacuum cleaners, coin collecting kits, sunsetter awnings etc. I'm not sure if it's the convincing commentary, seemingly endless array of examples of how you can use and abuse the products, how they make you feel like you MUST own the given product or just that you can get a $300 value for $19.95. Somewhere in my parents house, if they haven't already been tossed, there is a pile of VHS nonsense.

Recently I was watching a commercial for the Shamwow and I got really excited about them. I told Sarah that if I saw another commercial for them I would be all over it. Needless to say I caught the commercial again and one thing let to another and now I'm the proud owner of 8 Shamwows and I have said "wow" in each use thus far. How can you not trust a guy with a headset? In reality I think I can pretty well justify the purchase. Two kids and something is always spewing out of one of them. Anyhow the Shamwow hasn't disappointed, neither has the commerical, it's fantastic entertainment. Who wouldn't love to sock this dude in the face given the chance?

A few more pictures

Addie is just a really cute kid. She came out with no scratches or lop-sidedness and has really chubby cheeks, which we enjoy. I feel like she looks a lot like Sarah.

Jack has been such a good kid this week. I'm sure that a part of it is that my family is in town and the kid is not lacking for attention, toys or treats. But even so, he has been so patient with us and very accomodating. He has also been extremely nice to his sister. He'll wake up in the morning and go over to Addies bed and starts saying "baby....aaaeeee".

Adeline Marie

Happy Birthday Addie!
When we woke up yesterday I don't think anyone (especially us) would have guessed that we would have a baby by the end of the day. But by 4 baby Addie was born a perfectly pink and healthy 6 lb. 6 oz. 19 in. baby girl. We couldn't have been luckier with the way things went. Sarah was fantastic and things went so fast that I was probably on my feet for all of a half hour. I'm not kidding, it was really fast. We're still trying to guage how well Jack understands what is happening. So far he has been so nice and helpful.

My brave girls.

You know what we don't need...

The United States Postal Service is a complete waste. We don't need the USPS. Most of what they deliver is unwanted or un-needed garbage that is wasteful and harmful. Think of the amount of money the government could save if they weren't paying for the jobs, benefits, fuel, vehicles, maintaining buildings, planes, real estate, etc. used by the USPS. Fed-Ex, UPS and DHL along with several other private sector companies are already in place and doing a better job than the USPS...afterall they HAVE to compete for your business.

Just another example of our government being far too big and getting bigger, doing things and providing services that aren't needed and definitely not wanted.
